Kannada producer calls out Nani; claims Hi Nanna is a copy of his film: ‘What a cheap thing to do’

Recent discussions have emerged regarding the originality of Nani's film "Hi Nanna." Some have drawn parallels between its storyline and that of the 1973 Hindi film "Aa Gale Lag Jaa," which was also remade in Telugu as "Manchi Manushulu" in 1974. Critics suggest that "Hi Nanna" mirrors the narrative of these earlier films, leading to allegations of unoriginality.

In response to these claims, director Shouryuv has addressed comparisons to other films, notably "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai." He clarified that any perceived similarities are coincidental and emphasized that "Hi Nanna" is a fictional story inspired by real-life observations, not directly based on any previous works.

Additionally, some media outlets have speculated that "Hi Nanna" might be an unofficial remake of the Tamil film "Dada." However, these claims have been refuted by the filmmakers, who assert that "Hi Nanna" is an original script.

As of now, there is no specific information regarding a Kannada producer accusing "Hi Nanna" of being a copy of his film. The primary discussions revolve around its alleged similarities to older Hindi and Tamil f

ilms.
