Jammu and Kashmir Member of Parliament (MP) Engineer Rashid has approached the Delhi High Court seeking interim bail to attend the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament, scheduled from January 31 to April 4, 2025. He has requested bail from January 31 to April 5, aligning with the Parliament's session schedule.
Engineer Rashid is currently in custody in connection with a terror-funding case. His legal team has filed a plea for interim bail, emphasizing his role as a representative of the Baramulla constituency and the necessity of his presence in Parliament to fulfill his duties.
The Delhi High Court is expected to hear his plea on Thursday, January 30, 2025. The outcome of this hearing will determine whether Engineer Rashid can attend the Budget Session or if alternative arrangements, such as custody parole, will be considered.
This development underscores the ongoing legal proceedings involving Engineer Rashid and his efforts to participate in parliamentary activities despite the serious charges against
him.
