Chhattisgarh: 8 Maoists killed in encounter in Bijapur district

 On February 1, 2025, a significant encounter occurred between security forces and Maoist insurgents in the Gangalur area of Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh. The gunfight, which began around 8:30 AM, resulted in the deaths of eight Maoists. The operation involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) units. 


This operation is part of ongoing efforts by Indian security forces to combat Maoist insurgency in the region. Earlier in January 2025, a similar encounter in Bijapur led to the deaths of 12 Maoists.
