Chinese crane firm offers Rs 70 crore bonus to employees in 'grab-what-you-can' challenge

 In a remarkable display of employee appreciation, Henan Mine, a Chinese crane manufacturing company, distributed over 61 million yuan (approximately Rs 70 crore) in bonuses during their annual celebration. The event featured a two-meter-high stack of cash on stage, from which employees received their rewards. 


The top three sales managers were each awarded 5 million yuan (around Rs 6 crore), while over 30 other employees received at least 1 million yuan each. Additionally, the company organized a cash-counting competition, allowing employees to take home the amount they could accurately count within a set time frame. The fastest counter won 157,000 yuan. 


Henan Mine, established in 2002, employs over 5,100 people and reported a 23% increase in sales revenue in 2022, reaching 9.16 billion yuan (US$1.1 billion). Notably, the company has not conducted any layoffs in the past three years, and the average employee salary has increased by 30% annually.
