Down memory lane with Lko’s Sanatkada fest

The Mahindra Sanatkada Lucknow Festival (MSLF) is an annual cultural event that celebrates the rich heritage of Lucknow and the Awadh region. Launched in 2010, the festival has evolved from a modest crafts bazaar into a vibrant five-day extravaganza encompassing art, crafts, music, dance, literature, and cuisine.

Each year, MSLF adopts a unique theme to highlight various facets of Lucknow's culture. For instance, the 2024 edition, themed "Ashiqana Lucknow," focused on the city's romantic heritage, featuring performances, exhibitions, and discussions centered around love in its diverse forms.

The festival's centerpiece is the Crafts and Weaves Bazaar, which showcases traditional and contemporary crafts from across India and beyond. In 2024, over 100 craft groups participated, offering a wide array of textiles, jewelry, pottery, and other artisanal products.

In addition to the bazaar, MSLF features cultural performances, film screenings, heritage walks, and panel discussions, providing a platform for artists, scholars, and enthusiasts to engage with Lucknow's cultural tapestry. The festival is typically held at iconic heritage sites in Lucknow, such as Safed Baradari and Salempur House, adding to the city's historical ambiance.
