Kal Penn wants to remake Amitabh Bachchan's Don in Hollywood, admits he is addicted to watching Saath Nibhana Saathiya

 Actor Kal Penn has expressed a desire to remake Amitabh Bachchan's iconic film "Don" for a Western audience. Speaking at the Jaipur Literature Festival, he shared his vision of adapting the classic Bollywood thriller into a Hollywood context, aiming to blend escapism with familiarity. 


In addition to his cinematic aspirations, Penn revealed his fondness for Indian television serials, particularly "Saath Nibhana Saathiya." He mentioned that watching such shows helps him stay connected to the Hindi language and culture. He humorously noted his admiration for the character Kokila Ben, describing her as formidable, and acknowledged the widespread memes associated with the show. 


Penn's appreciation for "Saath Nibhana Saathiya" isn't new; in 2018, he tweeted about bonding with a Lyft driver over their shared interest in the show.
