Air connectivity improved considerably with new airports, UDAN: Eco Survey

 According to the Economic Survey 2024-25, India's air connectivity has seen significant improvements through the development of new airports and the implementation of the Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) regional air connectivity scheme. As of December 2024, 619 routes connecting 88 airports, including 68 unserved and underserved airports, have been operationalized under the UDAN scheme, enhancing regional connectivity. 


The survey also highlights that airport developers and operators have achieved 91% of the Rs 91,000-crore capital expenditure planned for the FY20-FY25 period, indicating substantial progress in aviation infrastructure development.
