DVC signs 25-year PPA with Haryana to supply 800 MW power from 2028

The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has entered into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC) to supply 800 MW of electricity starting from the fiscal year 2028-29. This agreement builds upon their existing partnership, under which DVC currently provides 300 MW to Haryana from its operational units.

Key Details of the Agreement:

Supply Sources:

300 MW from Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase-II (2x660 MW)

300 MW from Koderma Thermal Power Station Phase-II (2x800 MW)

200 MW from Durgapur Thermal Power Station (1x800 MW)

Commencement: Supplies from all three power stations are scheduled to begin in the fiscal year 2028-29.

This strategic agreement aims to enhance Haryana's power supply stability and support its growing energy demands. DVC has also secured a PPA to supply 1,159 MW to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited and is in advanced discussions with other distribution companies to finalize agreements for the remaining capacity from its upcoming projects.

The collaboration between DVC and HPPC underscores a significant step toward strengthening India's energy infrastructure and ensuring reliable power distribution to mee

t regional needs.
