The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has appointed two senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers as Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs):
R Prakash: A 2008-batch IPS officer from the Odisha cadre, Prakash has been appointed as DIG for an initial tenure of five years.
Vidyut Vikash: Currently serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the CBI, Vikash has been promoted to DIG with a tenure extending until February 18, 2025.
Additionally, the tenures of two existing DIGs in the CBI have been extended:
Neethu Kamal: A 2008-batch IPS officer from the Chhattisgarh cadre, Kamal's tenure has been extended from March 26, 2025, to March 25, 2027.
Abhinav Khare: A 2009-batch IPS officer from the Karnataka cadre, Khare's tenure has been extended from March 23, 2025, to March 22, 2027.
These appointments and tenure extensions are part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the leadership within the CBI, ensuring effective oversight and investigation
capabilities.
